“I am running for State’s Attorney because Shelby County residents deserve a tough-minded prosecutor with the skills to do the job right, and I believe I am that person. I have been working as a criminal prosecutor throughout my entire 21-year career and it would be a great honor to put my experience to work for the people of Shelby County.”

Nichole Kroncke is presently the First Assistant States Attorney of Macon County where she supervises 15 assistant state’s attorneys and the prosecution of all criminal cases.

Nichole graduated with honors from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1997.

She has served as an Advanced Trial Advocacy Instructor for the Illinois Appellate Prosecutor’s Office and was selected as a Presenter at the 2017 National Crimes Against Women Conference for her successful prosecution of the Lisa Cutler drowning homicide which occurred in Mt. Zion, Illinois.

Kroncke is also a member of the National District Attorney’s Association and serves as the chairperson of the Child First Center in Decatur.

She and her husband, William, have three and a half year-old twins, Paige and Jackson.
